There comes a day in everyone’s life when they know they’re changing as a person. It could be after a revolutionary life event.

It could be a ‘eureka’ moment, where they just get it . In my particular case it was the day I took tomato butter to a party.

Yep.

I was excited about it too. Long gone are the days I brought the beer, or the vodka – now it’s all about tomato butter.

Whether it’s the advent of family life, or perhaps just the progression of age, there comes a certain time when things just change .

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing either. It was still a great party, and a lot of fun was had. It was just the type of party that changed.

The hangover wasn’t as bad as usual either (knowing you’ll be up at 6am with two kids to look after is a pretty good preventative) – which also meant less of the next day was wasted.

In today’s busy schedule, that’s a win-win too.

On a side note, if you do suffer from hangovers, make sure you check out these anti-hangover baked eggs , or this extremely simple hangover sandwich .

Tomato Butter – party hard

This tomato butter has actually been known to HurryTheFoodUp for a long, long time. Much longer than the website has existed, in fact.

It was a recipe introduced to us by our lovely friend Elli (thank you Elli!) many, many years ago and we’re very grateful for her excellent taste.

We even ate it at our New Year’s Eve party way back in 2010.

Eight years later, and tomato butter is making another appearance – it’s certainly been around the block.

Halloween – the spiritual home of tomato butter

This tomato butter has also seen its fair share of halloweens.

Thanks to the deep red colour, it is the perfect accompaniment to any halloween food platter, and has received many compliments on its striking appearance and ability to blend in with vampires and werewolves.

If you’ve ever needed halloween food inspiration, you’re in the right place.

Last but not least, it goes without saying that tomato butter is absolutely delicious. The taste comes as a surprise to many – they just don’t expect it to taste that good.

But it does, and you can count on it. Stock up on some good quality, freshly baked bread and you’re on to an absolute treat.
