NOTES

Nutrition

Do vegan desserts have less calories?

No is probably not the answer you were looking for, but it is true. Leaving out dairy equals cutting out some fat (especially in the form of butter), but vegan desserts can still include calorie-dense ingredients like refined sugars and oils.

All desserts, regardless of diet type, have to be eaten in moderation.

Are vegan desserts more healthy?

Raw vegan desserts like fruit salads tend to be slightly healthier than baked treats or cold sweets because they contain nutrient-rich natural sugars. However, raw vegan desserts (and vegan desserts as a whole) can still have comparable amounts of calories to regular desserts if they’re packed with oily nuts and agave.

What sweets can you eat as a vegan?

Jelly beans, lollipops, gummy bears, peanut butter cups; you name it. As long as a sweet is free from animal products, it’s vegan-friendly.

But, as we’ve seen above, vegan-friendly does not always translate to healthy, so keep that in mind.

What desserts are good for weight loss?

  • Fruit popsicles and salads
  • Banana cups
  • Oatmeal cookies and muffins
  • Chocolate avocado pudding
  • Vegan-friendly oatmeal bites

And loads more. I will add though, some ingredients do stick out. Oatmeal and fruits suitable for weight loss for instance are wholesome ingredients that are staples in some of the aforementioned desserts and those contained in the compilation above!

When a vegan’s top priority is their health, desserts can seem off limits, but they really don’t have to be. These healthy vegan low-calorie desserts are suitable options that won’t put your goals in jeopardy!
